Are you a hands-on problem-solver who takes pride in quality workmanship? We’re looking for a Property Maintenance Operative to join our small, supportive team based in Elgin. You’ll work closely with our Operations Manager on a variety of interesting renovation and maintenance projects – often involving older buildings full of character.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys varied, meaningful work in a friendly environment where high standards and preserving the unique charm of our properties really matter.
What You’ll Be Doing:

• Assisting in the upkeep of older properties, helping us maintain their original character
• Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance
• Keeping outdoor areas tidy with light gardening (e.g. weeding, trimming hedges)
• Ensuring communal and exterior spaces remain safe, clean, and well-maintained
• Performing regular compliance checks, such as fire alarm tests
• Liaising with external contractors and managing site access
• Using our simple app-based system to log tasks and flag recurring issues
• Providing friendly, respectful customer service to tenants and clients
What We’re Looking For:
• Previous experience in property maintenance, facilities, or a similar hands-on role
• Practical skills in basic joinery, painting, and basic plumbing
• Confidence working independently and managing a varied workload
• A proactive, can-do attitude with attention to detail
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• A full, clean UK driving licence (essential – you’ll travel between sites)
Valued extras:
• Trade certifications (e.g. CSCS card)
• Experience working with residential or commercial properties, especially in housing or facilities management
A driving license is essential for this role to transport between multiple sites
