available throughout the building. Alternatively you can setup your own
service using the phone line provided. Fairview is in easy walking
distance of the bus stop, school, and local amenities. There is ample

Halkirk is
located 6 miles south of
Thurso, there is a restaurant, hotel, garage, primary school,
local shops and pubs.
Halkirk is a attractive village with all you will need,
however nearby Wick
and Thurso also
have a wide variety of shops and retail parks, airport, train stations &
other services.
Fairview was built in 1856, it was originally the poorhouse for Thurso,
Halkirk and several other parishes. Poorhouses like Fairview were built
throughout the United Kingdom in the 19th century. Many of these
beautiful buildings have survived to this day and some (rather
ironically) have now been converted in luxury accommodation.
In the 1970’s Fairview was converted into spacious, one, two & three
bedroom apartments. Over the following 40 years they were upgraded and
refurbished several times, in 2007 the building was vacated in order to
replace the roof.
In October 2010 we purchased the building. Following extensive
refurbishments Fairview House is occupied once again. The apartments
